Who’s your favorite stooge? Why?
Ok, so we have all seen and/or heard of the infamous “Three Stooges”. Their is now a movie out about the 1930’s comedy team. To me, the movie itself is an acquired taste. You will either love it or hate it, their is no “in between”.
My name is Joe. I am 31, and I grew up watching The Three Stooges with my dad. When I first saw one of the shorts as a kid, I remember laughing so hard, it hurt. I was especially turned on to The Three Stooges by the sound that you heard/hear when someone gets hit in the stomach. It sounds like a large drum! lol…..
I won’t name names, but I have, as a kid, make believed I was punching someone in the stomach and used the “BONG!” sound and when I did even the person i was jokingly hitting, laughed. It’s classic. My favorite stooge has to be Shemp because of the facial expressions he made. Their is one episode where Shemp wrestles with a phone cord in a phone booth and Larry grabs the attention of a passing woman and asks her “Hey lady, want to get married?”, and the lady responds positively to Larry until Larry says, “Not me, him”, pointing to Shemp who has a phone cord wrapped around his face! I don’t remember the name of the short but its the one where Shemp has to get married in order to collect on a financial settlement left to him from a relative that died.
